Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her first Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director has spent most of her professional career working with famous directors and actors both on screen and in television. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who produced Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford was most recently seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over a Century. In two seasons, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit series B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Also, she has performed on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original part in the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award. Ashford, who was born in Denver is now based in Los Angeles and New York.
